Smile
It’s often little things in life that bring a smile to our face. Maybe it’s a smile from a stranger passing on the street, a laughing child or a kind gesture from a co-worker.
Taking a moment to notice and enjoy these little things, being mindful or our surroundings, is thought to reduce stress. Serotonin is released in our brains when we smile or laugh, which elevates mood.
When a friend or family member is having a bad day, getting them to crack even a slight smile feels like success.
After a long, hard day at work, coming home to my dog always put a smile on my face. He’s always so happy to see me. Letting him go off leash on a walk brings me smile overload!
