Our little corner of the internet is where we’ll share with you the adventures of an empty nesting mother and a fledgling daughter. The mom

My name is Denise, and I’m a mom who wants to see her daughters flourish into adventurous adults, and independent women, who are not afraid to take risks, be happy, and be healthy. I’m the mom who spent a little too much time on the Easter egg hunt for my girls, not just hiding the eggs but making clues and riddles too.

Personally, I’m not afraid to get dirty (build things, paint things, grow a garden, plant flowers), and learn new things. I have a passion for traveling the world and taking my daughters along with me. I dreamed of seeing Paris as a young child and, as I was lucky enough to do so, I wanted to make sure my girls could too. I have a passion for making our house a home, with touches of things from travel experiences and things I love, always searching for just the right thing to finish a space.

I hope to share my experiences as a new empty nester with you: my hopes and aspirations for my daughters and the new opportunities I have with my new free time.

The daughter

My name is Ashlyn, and I’m the daughter of this mother-daughter equation. I’m currently completing my undergraduate degree and exploring this new chapter in my life, cheesy, I know. I was so excited to leave home after high school, but a little while into this new adventure, I started missing having my mom around. When my mom suggested we take on a mother-daughter project I was so happy.

I’m a yoga-doing, outdoor-loving university student studying leadership. I’m passionate about traveling and seeing the different cultures that make up this wonderfully diverse world. I’m huge on experiential learning and think the best way to learn is by doing: traveling, hiking, DIY projects, etc.

My dreams include becoming a yoga teacher, traveling the world, working with kids, being happy, and inspiring people. Mindfulness and mindful living are very important to me and guide me wherever I go.
